I am on the task to create a corporate welcomepage for an international company. Many of the users work offline. They have requested a custom made welcomepage/homepage, which is to be forced to all users. We must be able to reconfigure the welcomepage at a later stage, so incorporating it in bookmark.nsf in installpackage is not an option. Administrator help describes how to do this, by creating a welcomedatabase(based on bookmark.ntf) and using desktop setting in a policy to roll this out to users local bookmark.nsf. Problem is, this option does not allow much customization and only allows rollout of prebuildt welcomepages from the wizard. I need to roll out designchanges as well and the help file clearly states that designchanges will not be pushed out.
Searching this forum and other help resources, I find no solution for a flexible and configurable solution for welcomepage management. This must be a very common problem
Requirements for our welcomepage are:
- Must display online and offline
- Must be able to change design and content of the page in time to come
Anyone have any ideas or experience on this? Am I right in assuming that desktop setting in a policy will not meet the above requirements?
